Salad Days
Throughout the month of October, the artists at PADA studios found a common interest in exploring matter in its essence. The exhibition Salad Days highlights the idea of innocence, enthusiasm and idealism. Indiscrete modes of working alongside simple and raw materials expose a desire to go back to central elements of making. The use and adaptation of natural elements unites varied practices. Traditional woodcarving and stucco work complements the crisp geometry of welded steel. The experimentation with newly discovered natural pigments parallels the recycled materials, salvaged and repurposed. These conversations, revealed within the exhibition, allow an interplay between the artworks and greater appreciation of each individual work.
