In this group exhibitions, artists directly use or reference figuration in order to investigate various representations of bodies and objects and engage in an intricate process of world-building. Alluding to the fantastical and playing with vivid colour schemes they summon portals to alternate universes. The paintings and sculptures mix fantasy and reality, using both humour and melancholy. They question the perception of familiarity by playing on various level of communication. By reinventing the nature of materials, forms and functions the artists allude to set spaces such as theatre.
