Bloom again,
10 May - 22 June 2024 at Hweg, Penzance, UK
Bloom again brings together the works of four individuals exploring states of in-between within their creative practices. Offering conversations on the inevitability of times of limbo, this exhibition reframes what is often seen as voids of un-productivity to draw attention to their precious qualities.
As curators, artists, and writers, what do those moments of transition and apparent pause look like, and what can they unveil about our work as a whole? The works presented in this exhibition were produced with the intention of keeping a practice going, each revealing a specific aesthetic of research, freedom, and vulnerability, moving away from the purpose of creating for exhibiting.
“Believing in the intrinsic relation between who we are and what we do has allowed this exhibition to bring to the surface an authentic representation of evolving in the creative industry. Bloom again is an invitation to embrace fallow periods as essential times of quiet exploration, in which the creative practice may appear to be pausing yet is still moving. It is a gentle encouragement for creatives to keep their practice going at moments when not knowing where it will lead can be as inspiring as it is daunting.” - excerpt from Bloom again, and again publication
